The figure appears composed, almost theatrical, yet remains fully exposed. The suggestion of disguise is present, but it does not conceal—only redirects attention.
Set within the atmosphere of Venice, where masking and spectacle are embedded in the cultural fabric, the work examines the tension between presentation and visibility. What is performed as hidden remains perceptible.
The vertical gold element anchors the figure, referencing the mooring structures of the city while introducing a counterpoint of stability and self-possession. Within this constructed environment, concealment becomes an illusion—one that reveals more than it obscures.
